Healthy Choices for Your Recovering Body

HCFRB

Healthy Choices for Your Recovering Body (HCYRB) is a nutrition education program for limited resource adults in substance use recovery. The curriculum teaches recovery focused nutrition concepts, food preparation and food safety skills, food resource management and physical activity—all of which are skills critical for clients in recovery to be able to function independently and make healthy food choices to achieve greater health during and after recovery.

Lesson units are provided at a low literacy level to reach targeted populations and delivered in small group settings by paraprofessional nutrition educators.

Three hundred and eighty-three (383) adults across 20 counties received HCYRB in between 2021 and 2022.
